Nope. I decided to quit before I ruined something. Bearing seemed fine, I just wanted to grease while it was apart.

Hi, I have recently recommissioned my 1973 tx500,the Bike is running great apart from the fact that I cannot get it to run under three thousand revs,I have backed off the adjustment all the way and checked for air leaks and backed off the cables so there is plenty of slack but it still wonít come down,is there any more adjustment at all, many thanks, dave

Introductions / New member new XS500 owner
« Last post by Joffa1 on February 20, 2018, 07:06:25 AM »
Hi all, after searching far and wide Iíve finally found myself a 1976 XS500 for restoration. Not a runner but looks to be complete and with some spares. Seem to be a very rare bike in Australia so glad I finally found one. Had to do a 1000km round trip to get it and unloading a 200 plus kilo bike with non functioning brakes by myself was not fun! Somehow managed to do it without dropping her though.

Very excited to start restoring/modifying it. Absolutely love the shape and original colour. At this stage plan is to get it running and strip it right back for a repaint of frame and general tidy up. Going to keep it fairly original looking with a tidy up of the rear end.

I think first thing Iíll do is get the front brakes sorted so I can safely roll it down my driveway to where I want to do all the work on it. Any tips on where to start... Iím thinking new braided lines, pads, new fluid. What about the calipers... are there rebuild kits? Not even sure they need it but assuming the worst as she has sat for a while...

Anyway looking forward to becoming apart of the community and learning as much as I can... any other members from Australia on here?

90 psi is about the lowest level for a motor to run which you are close to. Did you have the throttle wide open when checking? If its backfiring your timing is off.

i believe my cb350 has the turn signal grounded in the turn signal with only one wire so it should be fine. is it working?

Hi everybody,
I would like to replace the old not original turn light (previous owner) with the original ones.
Previous have 2 wire, the genuine only 1.
If I connect only one wire (green and not black (mass)) it's ok? it's working?
I'm not expert
thank you

It does cough on both cylinders , just doesnt fire properly .
So some fuel must be getting through - possibly not enough .
I will try and check all this weekend if the weather will allow .
