Tires
« on: April 15, 2013, 09:35:30 PM »
I'm looking to buy new tires for my '74 TX500.  It's got stock spoke wheels.  I'm having a really tough time finding good resources to for multiple options and prices.  I'm looking for a modern, sporty tire that will give the best handling.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Shinko makes a nice tire that will fit your bike. Try Bike Bandit, the 712 is an affordable choice.

Gymi,

Thanks for the reply.  That is helpful, but, it leads to my next questions.  The site you linked indicates that this is a tubeless tire.  I have read elsewhere that my wheels require tubed tires.  Can all tubeless tires be run with tubes, or only certain ones, or none a tall?

Thanks again for any help.  I'm very new to this stuff and appreciate all the help I can get.

That's my fault, I'm thinking about the tires I bought for my bike, they are tubeless. Bike Bandit has several options for tubed tires. You should be able to find a tire that fits your bike here: http://www.bikebandit.com/street-tires/n1348-4294962659-4294966399-4294966933
