Jimmer, I understand that since some of the Xs500 have a single disk with a double acting calliper, they do use 16mm M/c.
I would imagine that a normal single disk calliper may only need a 12mm M/C.  I have not validated this info!

Jimmer, the front MC on the C/D/E should be a 1/2" or 13mm and the double disc kit version is an 11/16".

I checked for what I'm running on my XS500C with dual stock calipers and it's a 5/8" (just under 16mm) MC from an 80's model FZ. That gives me just a little more mechanical advantage than the normal 11/16" MC that the dual disc kit used.
