Errors in Yamaha TX500 wiring diagram
« on: November 04, 2012, 07:16:37 PM »
Hi all,

In the Yamaha TX500-TX500A service manual, there are several mistakes in the wiring diagram.
Below is an edited diagram, the three corrections are circled in red.
I haven't checked everything, so if you find more errors, let me know and I will update the drawing.

Mistakes...mean the three connection are mistaked? we have not link this point? cable Black from the battery must not be connected to tail lamp or Body E.?

This diagram is correct. The red circles show where I made the corrections.

The larger red circle is a correction of a an error.

The two small red circles show, well , more of a clarification.
When two wires cross in a diagram, there should be either a dot or a half circle to show whether they are connected or not. If there is no dot and no circle, we don't know what the author intended.

I was looking at this to do some work on the starter switch and noticed the kill switch looks like it has a mistake. I have not had the chance to go out and take my '73 apart to look but it appears the brown wire from the kill switch goes up and over and attaches to the red wire that goes from the fuse to the main switch. Is this correct or did they draw that one line too far past the other brown wire which is my assumption.

Yes, that's another mistake- the brown wire coming up on the schematic should stop at the horizontal brown and not carry on up to the red....
