XS500C Rims: Tubeless or...?
« on: February 26, 2018, 09:51:03 PM »
I'm putting the original wheels back on my XS500C, but the valve stems I ordered didn't fit at all. I ordered another set and they still didn't fit. So I went to the fiche to look up the part number, (https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/a/yam/50041a10f8700209bc7856e6/rear-wheel) and it looks like these rims use tubes. I thought only spoked wheels have tubes, so now I'm not sure what to do from here.

It would make sense why the valves I ordered don't fit, and I'd be much happier if they use tubes because I find them much easier to install than trying to get tubeless tires to seat!

Those wheels indeed require tubes. I like standard IRC tubes as the quality is great and they are priced well.
