Did it come with carbs? The E model carbs are better and jetted a little different for that engine. Other than that it mounts and connects to the harness the same as the early engines.

it is coming in wednesday, but im assuming it will not :/ any idea what the jets are/how they are different? is there harm in running the older carbs?

If you have to use your old BS38 carbs then just start with what is in them and rejet as needed. I don't know which way you'll need to go. Do you have the service manual? If not, get one. The specs are in there.

I will try and let you know, i have the tx500 manual but will work on getting the newer one. thanks for all your help!
